Bursaries are awards that are given to students with financial need being a major factor in the criteria for the award.

Some tips:   Students must be prepared to do some research to find scholarships that meet their unique situation.  There are so many different scholarships available but the students need to meet the challenge and dedicate their time to discover these scholarships.  Look through scholarship websites, check which awards are available from the university or college they plan to attend, inquire about scholarship programs.  Activity groups such as 4-H or minor hockey have scholarships, inquire within the groups you are involved.  Be prepared to do some work!!   This may involve preparing lengthy applications, asking for reference letters,  and writing essays.   Be involved with school, volunteer and community organizations.  Keep a detailed list of all activities and VOLUNTEER, all of these suggestions will assist you in your search for Scholarships.

If you have any questions,  please contact the Counsellor,  Mrs. Pritchard.
